The Snell Memorial Foundation, an independent U.S. nonprofit organization that develops and tests helmet safety standards.

What it means:
Snell's current standard for auto racing helmets, with strict requirements for impact protection, fire resistance, roll-bar impacts, visor performance, and HANS/FHR compatibility. SA2025 also introduces stricter impact requirements than the previous SA2020 standard.

Typically required for:
U.S. auto racing, including club racing, track days, HPDE, time attack, and autocross. SA2025 rated helmets are also accepted by many U.S. karting organizations for adult karting.

Not intended for: Motorcycle use.

  • The Zamp RZ-38 Dirt Track Racing Helmet is a Snell SA2025 helmet for dirt racers who want reliable protection, comfort and performance at an accessible price. It uses the same lightweight composite fiberglass shell as the standard Zamp RZ-38, with reduced venting to block dust and roost.

  • The RZ-38 Dirt includes a pre-installed upper chin curtain to keep dirt and debris out through the chin bar area, along with the new 29 Series removable, washable interior.

  • The Zamp RZ-38 Dirt replaces the Zamp RZ-36 Dirt helmet model, with upgraded safety and performance features.

  • Key features include:

    • Composite Fiberglass Lightweight Shell: A durable, lightweight shell for comfort in rugged dirt racing.

    • 29 Series Interior: Removable, washable, fire-retardant crown liner and cheek pads for a customizable fit and easy maintenance.

    • Z-20 Series Shields: Comes with a standard clear Z-20 shield with tensioning tear-off posts, compatible with 12.125" banana-style tear-offs or Z Optics P208Z tear-offs. Colored visors sold separately.

    • Reduced External Venting: Designed with less airflow to block dust, dirt and roost.

    • Pre-Installed Upper Chin Curtain: Keeps dirt and debris from entering through the chin bar area, a key feature for dirt track racing.
