What it means:
Despite “2016” in its name, it remains a current Snell/FIA standard designed specifically for young kart racers, primarily drivers under 15. These helmets provide strong impact protection while keeping helmet weight low to help reduce the forces placed on a child's head and neck.

Typically required for:
Youth and junior kart racing. CMR2016 is recognized by major U.S. karting organizations, including SKUSA and WKA, for youth competition. Age and class requirements vary by series.

Not intended for: Motorcycle or auto racing use.

  • Bell has teamed up with Formula 1 World Champion Lewis Hamilton to create this KC7-CMR karting helmet in purple and black. Lewis worked closely with Bell's paint team to ensure the graphics and signature elements closely match his own F1 helmet.

  • This Lewis Hamilton edition includes a 2mm multi-layer clear purple visor, top and side air intakes, rear spoiler, and a Bell HP Helmet bag. That is over $300 worth of accessories included.

  • The KC7-CMR Lewis Hamilton is certified to the Snell/FIA CMR2016 standard, designed specifically for young kart racers, primarily drivers under 15.
