Despite “2016” in its name, it remains a current Snell/FIA standard designed specifically for young kart racers, primarily drivers under 15. These helmets provide strong impact protection while keeping helmet weight low to help reduce the forces placed on a child's head and neck.

Youth and junior kart racing. CMR2016 is recognized by major U.S. karting organizations, including SKUSA and WKA, for youth competition. Age and class requirements vary by series.

  • Bell Racing introduced the KC7-CMR Carbon as the first ultra-lightweight carbon youth karting helmet on the market.

  • Based on Bell's HP7, its aerodynamic design features an advanced ventilation system with 14 air intake and extraction channels to maximize cooling, and a Double Screen Anti-Fog (DSAF) insert to prevent fogging in rain conditions.

  • The KC7-CMR Carbon is certified to the Snell/FIA CMR2016 standard, designed specifically for young kart racers, primarily drivers under 15.

  • Adults can also use it for recreational and club-level karting where the rules only require a helmet. For sanctioned adult classes, check your series rulebook, since many require a Snell K or SA rated helmet.
