The KC7-EV CMS has a wider eyeport than the KC7-CMR. That extra space around the eyes helps drivers who wear glasses: frames slide on and off more easily, the padding puts less pressure on them, and the wider opening helps with fogging and peripheral vision.

Snell/FIA CMR2016 is a current standard designed specifically for young kart racers, primarily drivers under 15, with low helmet weight to help reduce the forces on a child's head and neck. Snell/FIA CMS2016 is designed primarily for youth motocross and off-road motorsports.
Both are accepted for youth karting by major U.S. organizations, including SKUSA, USPKS, WKA and AKRA, but CMR2016 is the version designed for karting. Age and class rules vary by series. See What You Must Wear to Race in 2026 for each league's helmet rules.
The KC7-CMR is rated Snell/FIA CMR2016, the standard designed specifically for young kart racers, and comes in White, Champion graphics, Carbon and F1 driver editions. The KC7-EV CMS is rated Snell/FIA CMS2016, has a wider eyeport, and starts at size 51. Both are accepted for youth karting by major U.S. organizations.

Measure around the widest part of your child's head, about one inch above the eyebrows, and compare it with the size chart for that helmet. Try it on indoors first.
