Lewis Hamilton's path to Formula 1 began at age eight, karting near his hometown of Stevenage, England. At ten, he won the British Kart Championship; three years later, McLaren signed him to its Young Driver Programme after he'd approached team boss Ron Dennis at an awards ceremony and asked, unprompted, for a shot at racing for the team.
Hamilton made his F1 debut with McLaren in 2007, one of the strongest rookie seasons in the sport's history, and won his first World Championship the following year at 23 — at the time, the youngest champion ever. He moved to Mercedes in 2013, and from 2014 to 2020 the pairing produced six more titles, tying him with Michael Schumacher for the most championships in F1 history (seven) and setting the sport's all-time record for career race wins.
In 2008, Hamilton became the first Black driver to win an F1 World Championship — a milestone that made him one of the sport's most closely watched figures well beyond the racetrack, and one he's built on since through the Hamilton Commission and Mission 44, both focused on expanding opportunity in motorsport and engineering.
In 2025, Hamilton began a new chapter, joining Scuderia Ferrari — pairing one of the sport's most decorated drivers with its most storied team. For collectors, that makes this collection a genuine record of a career still being written: McLaren's early breakthrough, Mercedes' dominant decade, and Ferrari's next one, each in its own helmet.
