No. Karting suits are built to resist abrasion, protecting your skin if you slide across the track, not to resist fire like the suits used in car racing. If you also race cars, you need a separate SFI or FIA rated racing suit; shop our racing suits for car racing.
FIA 8877-2022 is the FIA's current homologation standard for karting suits, which tests how well a suit resists abrasion. It replaces the older CIK-FIA Level 1 and Level 2 homologations. Some series still accept Level 2 suits, so check which homologation your rulebook requires before you buy.
Many indoor and arrive-and-drive tracks don't require a homologated suit, so a lighter single-layer suit such as the OMP SUMMER-K or Alpinestars Kart Indoor V2 keeps you cool and protects your clothes. Check with your track, and choose an FIA 8877-2022 suit if you plan to race in a sanctioned series.
Karting suits are sized by height and chest. Entry-level and indoor suits usually come in generic sizes (S to XXL), each covering two individual sizes at a time, while racing suits use European sizes such as 40 to 62. Youth suits often use height-based sizes such as 120 to 150. Check each product's size chart, and contact us if you're between sizes.
