  Does it need a harness to work or can I just have it on my shoulders?
  • No, you cannot use a HANS Device (Head and Neck Restraint) without a harness. The harness is what actually activates the HANS device, and without it, the HANS will not stay in position, cannot restrain your head or neck in a crash, and it becomes ineffective and potentially dangerous.
    To use a HANS device safely, you must have:

    • A multi-point racing harness (minimum 4-point, ideally 5 or 6-point);
    • Proper shoulder belt routing over the device.
    • A compatible seat and mounting position

• Can I buy a HANS device in Orlando?

  • Staff Answer
    FAST RACER Orlando stocks head and neck restraints from Stand21, OMP and Alpinestars that you can try on in person. HANS brand devices ship from another warehouse, so select Orlando Pickup at checkout and allow about 2 to 4 business days. Visit us to shop in person, try on racing gear, or pick up your order.
