What it means:
Snell's current standard for auto racing helmets, with strict requirements for impact protection, fire resistance, roll-bar impacts, visor performance, and HANS/FHR compatibility. SA2025 also introduces stricter impact requirements than the previous SA2020 standard.

Typically required for:
U.S. auto racing, including club racing, track days, HPDE, time attack, and autocross. SA2025 rated helmets are also accepted by many U.S. karting organizations for adult karting.

Not intended for: Motorcycle use.

    • Excellent Ventilation System: The Bell M8 features a direct flow chin bar vents and ten upper air intakes. It ensures the necessary airflow to keep drivers cool and focused.

    • Advanced Multi-Density Liner: The multi-piece liner maximizes impact absorption with custom bead technology, offering low and high-velocity protection.

The Bell M8 Snell SA2020 has fewer top vents and features a manual lever to open or close them, while the M8 Sport SA2025 offers more vents that remain open, resembling the previous K1 Sport helmet. Both provide excellent protection and ventilation for auto racing or karting.

      Overall, the Bell M8 Helmet offers the protection needed for drag racing. It has a fireproof liner and is SA2020 certified. It also features a large eye port, which is better for a motorcycle drag racing when compared to the standard eye port.

    I saw a Q & A on your website with reference to the Bell M8. The question was, Are the cheek pads of the M8 Carbon removable?" The answer was, "Yes! The face pieces on the M8 Carbon are removable for the Hydration and radio kits to be installed.
    • We got a Bell Helmets representative on the phone just to make sure. And, unfortunately, the answer is NO. The internal lining of the M8 does not have an opening for the earcups and is not removable. If you didn't buy the helmet just yet, see if you like the GT6. The Bell GT6 PRO has radio compatibility and a wide eyeport similar to the Bell M8 SPORT. The GT6 PRO is designed for closed-cockpit environments. If you want a helmet with Earcups and microphone already installed, check out the Bell GT6 RD-4C/EC.

    I have always fit into a large for Arai and Shoei helmets which place their Large size on the 59 to 60 cm range. The Bell helmets are offset from this range placing me in between sizes.

      If you places between sizes, it means the lowest size is not going to work for you. So, I recommend the next size. For the Bell M8, the Medium size only fits a head up to 59 cm. Above 59 cm, it is recommended to go to a Large size.
