The Snell Memorial Foundation and FIA, which jointly developed CMR2016, and the SFI Foundation, which develops SFI 24.1. Both are safety standards specifically designed for younger racers. Snell continues to list CM2016 as its current children's motorsports standard despite “2016” in its name, while SFI currently lists 24.1 as its Youth Full Face Helmet specification.

What it means:
This helmet meets two youth motorsports helmet standards. CMR2016 is specifically intended for karting, while SFI 24.1 is a youth full-face helmet standard used in both karting and youth auto racing. SFI 24.1 also includes provisions for head-and-neck restraint (HANS/FHR) anchors.

Typically required for:
Youth and junior kart racing, as well as certain youth auto-racing classes that accept SFI 24.1. Major U.S. karting organizations such as SKUSA and WKA recognize these youth helmet standards. WKA's current 2026 rules recognize both CMR2016 and SFI 24.1.
