Youth | Kids Collection

Shop racing gear built for junior drivers (youth, kids and children) in kart racing and auto racing, including youth and kids helmets, suits, gloves, youth kart racing shoes and accessories.

Need a helmet? Shop youth and kids karting and racing helmets: full-face helmets certified to Snell/FIA CMR, CMS or SFI 24.1, sized for young drivers in karts and race cars.

Most products in this collection fit children up to 160 cm (about 5 ft 3 in) tall. For bigger sizes, see the "Adult Driver" menu under "Auto Racing" or "Kart Racing".

Questions about Youth | Kids Collection

Q&A

7 answered questions

  • What gear does my child need for a first kart race?

    seo@fastracer.com

    • Staff Answer
Plan on a certified full-face helmet, a kart suit, gloves, closed-toe shoes and, for most junior classes, a neck brace and chest protector. SKUSA requires a CIK Level 2 suit, while USPKS, WKA and AKRA allow an abrasion-resistant jacket and pants. Our 2026 karting rules guide covers each league. Shop youth and kids karting gear.

      seo@fastracer.com

  • Are youth kart suits fire-resistant?

    seo@fastracer.com

    • Staff Answer
No. Youth kart suits, such as the Alpinestars KMX-9 V3 (FIA 8877-2022) and OMP KS-2 ART (CIK-FIA Level 2), are built for abrasion resistance in karting, not fire protection. Do not use one as a race car fire suit. If your child also races cars, choose an SFI-rated youth race suit like the Zamp ZR-40. Shop youth kart suits.

      seo@fastracer.com

  • What certification does a youth racing or karting helmet need?

    seo@fastracer.com

    • Staff Answer
Youth helmets may be certified to Snell/FIA CMR, Snell/FIA CMS, or SFI 24.1, depending on the model. These standards aren’t necessarily interchangeable, and the helmet must meet your series’ specific requirements. Check the current rulebook or confirm with the organizer before buying to ensure the helmet is approved for competition.

      seo@fastracer.com

  • What certification does a youth racing or karting helmet need?

    seo@fastracer.com

    • Staff Answer
For karting, a Snell/FIA CMR or CMS youth helmet, or one rated SFI 24.1. Our 2026 karting rules guide shows SKUSA, USPKS, WKA and AKRA accepting all three, and SKUSA, USPKS and AKRA list CMR and CMS as valid for 10 years from the manufacture date. Age and class rules vary, so check your rulebook before you buy. Shop youth and kids karting helmets.

      seo@fastracer.com

  • Does my child need a neck brace for karting?

    seo@fastracer.com

    • Staff Answer
Usually, yes. Our 2026 karting rules guide shows SKUSA requiring a neck brace in all junior categories, USPKS in all classes except Senior and Masters, WKA commonly for juniors, and AKRA a collar-type brace in all sit-up classes. The brace must be made for motorsports and unaltered. Check your class rules. Shop kart neck braces and collars.

      seo@fastracer.com

  • Can we try youth sizes at your Orlando store?

    seo@fastracer.com

    • Staff Answer
Yes. Bring your child to our Orlando store to try youth helmets, suits and gloves in person. Sizes in stock vary, so choose Orlando Pickup at checkout to hold a specific item, or call +1 (855) 684-0055 before you visit. If a size is still wrong later, exchange it within 30 days. Shop youth and kids gear.

      seo@fastracer.com

  • Does my child need a chest protector for karting?

    seo@fastracer.com

    • Staff Answer
If your child is 12 or under, likely yes. Our 2026 karting rules guide shows SKUSA requiring one for drivers 12 and under and in Micro and Mini Swift classes, and USPKS for all drivers under 13, rated SFI 20.1 or FIA. WKA rules vary by class and age. Check your rulebook before race day. Shop kart body protection.
