The difference is the finish. The Matte Carbon is the same RZ-66C Carbon helmet but with a non-glossy, flat finish. Gloss Carbon is shiny; Matte Carbon has a dull, non-reflective look. The gloss carbon reflects more of the sun and, thus, it is cooler if you are racing in an open cockpit.
