According to FAST RACER's SA2020 vs SA2025 comparison, the change is evolutionary, not revolutionary: SA2025 helmets must pass slightly higher impact-severity tests, aligning with the FIA 8859-2024 standard, but SA2025 does not add rotational-impact testing. SA2020 helmets remain valid and are accepted by most sanctioning bodies through the end of 2030.
