Yes, many people do mount cameras on their helmets. However, I would not recommend it for two main reasons: (1) With the Bell GP3 Sport helmet, you add extra weight and stress to your neck during races; (2) it could compromise the helmet's performance in a crash, especially if the impact is on the mounted camera.
